NitChatComedy Performer Guidelines

Welcome to NitChatComedy!​

 

These guidelines apply to comedians performing at NitChatComedy shows and are intended to keep the experience professional, fair and enjoyable for performers, audiences and our venue partners.​ By registering as a performer and accepting a spot at a NitChatComedy show, you agree to follow the guidelines below.

 

Performer Registration

 

All new comedians must complete the NitChatComedy performer registration process before being eligible for performance spots. Registration does not guarantee a performance spot. Lineups and performance opportunities are allocated at the discretion of the NitChatComedy team based on show format, availability and suitability.

 

Performance Opportunities

 

NitChatComedy hosts different formats including open mics, featured comedy shows, panel shows and other special formats.

Performance duration, format and any specific requirements will be communicated when a spot is offered. Performers should only accept spots they are reasonably confident they can attend.

 

Open Mic Spots

 

Our open mic shows are intended to encourage comedians to write, test and develop material. Performers are encouraged to use these spots for new or developing material rather than repeatedly performing the same set. Spot duration and lineup order are determined by NitChatComedy and may vary between shows.

 

Featured & Paid Spots

 

Selected shows may include longer featured or paid performance spots. Where a performance carries a fee, ticket commitment or other requirement, the terms will be communicated to the performer before the spot is confirmed. Any applicable payment is subject to the performer fulfilling the agreed requirements for that particular show.

 

Reservation Commitments

 

Certain featured shows or special performance opportunities may require performers to bring or sell a minimum number of audience reservations. Where applicable, the required number will always be communicated before the performer accepts the spot. Reservations must be booked through official NitChatComedy booking channels unless otherwise agreed.

 

Arrival & Attendance

 

Performers should arrive at the venue by the reporting time communicated for the show. If you are unable to attend after accepting a spot, please inform NitChatComedy as early as possible so the lineup can be adjusted. Repeated last-minute cancellations, no-shows or late arrivals may affect eligibility for future spots.

Performance Conduct

 

Comedy is subjective, and NitChatComedy supports performers developing their individual voice and style. However, performers are expected to behave professionally and comply with applicable UAE laws, venue policies and any show-specific content requirements communicated by NitChatComedy. Performers must also respect fellow comedians, audience members, venue staff and the NitChatComedy team. NitChatComedy reserves the right to stop a performance or restrict future participation in cases of serious misconduct or violation of venue/show requirements.

 

Recording & Content

 

NitChatComedy shows may be photographed, filmed or recorded for promotional, archival and social media purposes. By accepting a performance spot, performers acknowledge that reasonable excerpts featuring their performance may appear on NitChatComedy's digital and social media channels. Where a show specifically includes performer recordings as part of the format, any available footage/audio and applicable conditions will be communicated separately.

 

Performer-Created Content

 

Performers are welcome to share photographs, clips and other content from their appearances at NitChatComedy. Where appropriate, we appreciate performers tagging @NitChatComedy and the relevant show/venue when posting. Any recording inside a venue remains subject to that venue's policies and show-specific instructions.

 

Lineups & Spot Allocation

 

Performance spots are not guaranteed based on previous appearances, registration seniority or frequency of participation.

NitChatComedy retains discretion over:

• Performer selection

• Lineup order

• Spot duration

• Show format

• Frequency of appearances

 

Lineups may occasionally change due to operational or venue requirements.

 

Venue Rules

 

All performers must comply with the rules and policies of the venue hosting the show, including age restrictions, access requirements and any applicable food, beverage, smoking, photography or recording policies.

Professional Conduct

 

NitChatComedy aims to maintain a welcoming comedy community for both new and experienced performers. Harassment, threatening behaviour, deliberate disruption of another performer's set, abuse towards staff/audience members, or other serious misconduct may result in removal from a show and/or future NitChatComedy lineups.

 

Changes to These Guidelines

 

NitChatComedy may update these Performer Guidelines as its shows, venues and formats evolve. The latest version published on the NitChatComedy website will apply to future performance registrations and spot confirmations.
